Birds Breaking My Iced Cages by Jessica Ni Leacai
From glass cages, they freed
the fathomed birds and their demurs
dimmed the brightest skies and ice,
irked over these grounds of grieving.
As I seen them soar over my shadowed
sittings, I wished their travels would
welcome warmer weathers, but they
thought summer as no solitude in season.
So all sat seized by these colder breezes,
as beggars without solar celebrations and
how days drifted in longing of laughter,
to heat their hearts alighted and burning.
But chance this dream dared break
the boundaries of reoccurring reality,with
all knowing kindly my violated virtues, and
I not solitarily seeking other’s acknowledgement.
